“Followers will work relentlessly for a selfless leader, but a selfish leader can expect selfish behavior in return,” says Jeff Barnett, a former marine. In his blog post, he offers smart 10 rules for leaders.

“A good plan now is better than a perfect plan next week,” he says, reminding us what to do and NOT to do as a leader.

Here’s one more from his list: “Just as important as knowing when to change the plan is knowing when to lower your shoulder and charge forward. A leader’s decisions are sometimes unpopular.”
